Students
Experience the adventure of a lifetime when you join International Zoological Expeditions, Inc. (IZE) on an educational tour to Belize or Venezuela.
Journey deep into the rainforest of Belize, exploring ancient limestone caves while learning about Belize's diverse tropical ecology and Mayan culture. Swim with sea turtles, eagle rays and porpoises on the Belize barrier reef. Or explore the rainforest and caves of Blue Creek.
Outdoor tropical classrooms
IZE operates educational field stations in some of the best locations in Belize: on the barrier reef at South Water Caye and in one of the most spectacular expanses of primary rain forest at Blue Creek Rainforest Lodge.
In addition, IZE also leads educational expeditions to Venezuela encompassing cloud forests, coral reefs, savannah and alpine regions.
Hands-on learning adventure
With IZE, you'll gain a firsthand understanding of the terrestrial, marine, and cultural ecology of Belize and Venezuela through field-based learning activities.
Hiking through the lush rainforest of Belize you'll learn about biodiversity and ecological sustainability as a local guide points out plants, birds, and animals such as tayra, iguanas, and kinkajous.
Snorkeling off South Water Caye will introduce you to the inter-relationships of marine organisms found on coral reefs and isles, sea grass meadows, and mangrove swamps.
Evening lectures will interpret the complexity and diversity of the tropical ecosystems that you have seen and experienced throughout each day.
